Privacy
NOVARA explains what this deployment actually does — not aspirational marketing.
Private Search / Privát keresés
- Not saved: search history, personalization profiles, interest graphs, ad profiles, analytics events that include your query.
- Still necessary: the server must receive the query to run search; ephemeral tokens may be used briefly for private POST→GET flows.
- AI mode: if enabled, the query + retrieved excerpts are sent to the configured AI provider even in private mode (we do not claim otherwise).
- Not full anonymity: hosting access logs, TLS intermediaries, or network observers may still see request metadata. We do not control every host log.
Normal (non-private) search
- If “save history” is on, queries are stored against a visitor cookie hash so you can view/delete them.
- You can auto-delete history, export data, or wipe visitor search data under Privacy settings.
- Personalization is off by default and never stores raw queries in analytics.
Gyors törlés / Quick Clear
Clears NOVARA search history for this browser cookie. Does not delete passwords, admin accounts, bookmarks (unless you choose that), other sites’ cookies, host access logs, or external provider copies.
Security checks
Results may be checked against a local threat blocklist and optionally Google Safe Browsing (server-side API key). If the remote API is unavailable, the UI says so — it does not claim “safe”.
Cookies
- Admin session cookie for
/admin. - Optional
novara_vidvisitor cookie for history/prefs/bookmarks. - Optional
novara_privatepreference cookie for private mode default. - Geo/UI language cookies from the locale feature (when present).
Browser extension
The optional NOVARA Privacy extension blocks trackers locally, strips tracking parameters, and can call NOVARA’s threat-check API. It does not collect your browsing history for analytics. See extension/README.md.
